Equipment Recommendations

CVS was designed to support any H.323-compliant videoconferencing equipment. We have tested and had good results with a variety of codecs manufactured by Polycom and Tandberg.

Most H.323-compliant codecs support proprietary extensions to the standard, and therefore offer enhanced capabilities. The proprietary extensions, however, may or may not be supported by other manufacturers or even other versions of equipment made by the same manufacturer, so it's a good idea to make sure you understand which features are H.323-compliant and which are extensions.

CVS will be happy to assist you with equipment recommendations, depending on your needs.

Equipment known to be tested with the Cisco Proxy Gatekeeper is the following. Please note that the software versions shown below are what we tested against; they are not current.
